As it’s early summer, daytime temperatures usually reach around 30 ℃/86 °F and drop to about 14 ℃/57 °F at night. Afternoon thunderstorms are common, so pack layers, a light rain jacket and sunscreen.

The current approximate exchange rate is 16.67 Rand to 1 USD. Cards and tap work almost everywhere. Use ATMs inside malls or banks. Tip 10–15% in restaurants.
